Picture of the crew all back together again.
So it is April and everyone is back from our team! I got back first from the Base Directors Meeting, the team got back from their trip to RIT/NTID and Canada and Dan was last to get back from Kyrgyzstan. There was a lot of great testimonies of what God has done in each of us and our crew, including our team leading a young man to Jesus in Taco Bell on their way home to DC! Check out pictures and a blog written about their trip at www.asldts.com. I wanted to share some pictures from the YWAM Base Directors Meeting. Keep your eyes open for another post with stories and pictures from Kyrgyzstan later this week!
Northeast Base Directors Conference 2014
A group picture on the last day of the YWAM base directors in NE region.
The annual conference is a place for base directors to come together and encourage and love each other. This year was very simple but very powerful. The NE director, Todd Hedgepeth, opened with sharing how important it is to know each other stories. So for the 3 days, each of the base directors shared how they met Jesus and shared their journey with the group. Then they shared an update about what God was doing at their base and some prayer requests. And then as a group we prayed for them! It was amazing! I got to hear pioneering stories over and over and people's testimonies and then got to prayer for them!
I was in glory land! Loving every moment! As well as share about what God has been doing with YWAM DC and the ASL ministry, they were super encouraged to see how God is working here in DC.
It was amazing to meet these men and woman who have given their lives to Jesus being made known in the NE region of the US. Many joined YWAM in their youth as singles and have since got married and raised familes and are still serving YWAM. I was inspired and encouraged that Jesus is worth every part of our lives. He is worthy. There will be ups and downs but He is worthy of it all.
Bill Blatz and me
Bill actually helped pioneer YWAM DC in the 70s. He did all of the foundation work for YWAM DC. As I heard his story and had time with him, I was overwhelmed with gratefulness of all the struggle and work he and others did to make a platform for YWAM DC now.
Kimberlee Hershey, Rozanne Savoca, and me
It was really cool to spend time with these two amazing woman of God and strong intercessors. Kimberlee who is not a mother of 5 (one still in the womb due in Aug), who has given herself to love and support her husband Jason, and give everything she has in training her children in the way to go. Rozanne, has been in YWAM for 41 years with her husband, raised all three of her daughters in missions and still teaching young people everything she has learned from Jesus! I was so inspired by them!
God even had a surprise for me! Heidi and Isaac (couple in the picture who served in Costa Rica with Dan and I) serve at the New York base so I was able to catch up with them for dinner! But then our last day, a friend Leigh, who also served in Costa Rica with all of us was visiting Heidi and Isaac at the base so I got to see her too! I love that it was happened to be the same week that I was there for the conference and we go to see each other! God is full of surprises!
