Walking in Breakthrough, brings others into breakthrough

When you are walking in breakthrough, walking others in breakthrough is natural!

So I am comfortable worshiping with singing in my room, in our house, in front of my team and in the locker room at the gym.  This is an area of my life that I have broken through in as just a few years ago I would have never let anyone hear me sing.  However, worshiping Jesus when my heart is moved to is something I know blesses His heart!

Well, today I went to the gym, God always brings breakthrough at the gym. I was in the weight room and listening to my worship music and the song Burning Ones by Jesus Culture started to play.  My heart started to burn to sing and worship Jesus.  My first thought was here? In the weight room of the gym? I looked around and most people had headphones on but not everyone.  As the song continued my heart race and felt like it was going to explode with worship.  I decided that I did not care what others thought of me! I LOVE JESUS and want to BLESS his heart right now! He is moving in my heart to worship and I will! I care more about blessing his heart than what others might think of me.  So I put down my 5 lb weights and hands lifted high and eyes closed I worshiped.

We are your burning ones, we are consumed by you . . .
so let this love be like a fire, let our life be like a flame,
fill our souls with your desire let our passion bring you fame.

I was brought to tears of the goodness of our God and I was truly consumed by Him and filled with desire for Him. This was truly breakthrough for me.

After worshiping I finished a few sets of weights and then I swam and took a shower.  As I was walking back to the locker room to change, I made eye contact with a friend.  She is a dear sister that I met this year, who loves and serves the Lord with all her heart.  Every time I run into her at Costo or the Gym, I am blessed.  We had the opportunity recently to pray for freedom from the fear of man and insecurity.  She has been choosing daily to fear God more than fear what others people think or say about her. Choosing to care more how she is accepted by God than the fear of being rejected by people.  She shared what God has been doing in her life, she was brought to tears because of how God was so good to make this divine appointment in the locker room with me.  She had a hard night and needed encouragement.  She was so overwhelmed with God's sovereignty and love for her.  Afterwards, I asked if we could pray.  She smiled.  I knew it was an opportunity for more breakthrough in her life and she took the opportunity with boldness! We prayed right there in the locker room with others around us stepping forth in courage to openly declare we love Jesus!

Afterwards, I realized because of the breakthrough I had in the weight room, it was so natural to led another person in breakthrough.  Jesus, I desire to be a woman who is walking in breakthrough, thus naturally leading others in breakthrough! May we all be people walking in breakthrough and bringing others into breakthrough!

WALK the race marked out for you

. . .let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  Hebrews 12:1

You may know this verse as RUN the race marked out for you and be wondering why I titled this blog WALK the race.  Well, last Friday God called me to WALK the race.

I was riding up an escalator with some friends and I thought I am going to walk up the escalator.  I have not have the strength in the past months to walk up it so I started to walk up it.  One of my friends started to run up and another friend said we can beat him.  I had a feeling that I should stay my pace and walk but I wanted to run too! So I started to run and I ran for a bit and then I took a hard fall down hitting my knee.  Ouch it hurt! I was injured and it prevented me from walking normally.  That same night, I asked God to reveal something to me through it.  What was He trying to teach me as I sensed there was meaning behind the experience.

I waited quietly until He spoke clearly.  I called you to walk up.  I know that you are excited about what I am doing on earth and how I am bringing my kingdom to earth and you see it.  However, do not jump ahead of what I calling you to do.  I called you to walk.  You decided to run ahead at a completely different pace than I called and you got injured   Since you ran ahead, you got injured and now you can not even perform what I called you to do in the original place, which was to walk.  Carole, I love you and love your eagerness but just run the race I call you to run.  Stick to it and you will experience everything I intend for you at the perfect timing!

So often we jump ahead of God and by doing so we get ourselves injured, thus preventing ourselves from the calling and destiny that we were called for.

God, I am sorry for running ahead of your plan.  I receive your forgiveness for not trusting you and taking the situation in my own hands.   Jesus I trust you.  I trust your plans, timing and will.  I trust the pace you call me to run at is the pace you desire me to run at and I trust others are running at the pace you call them.  I choose to focus on my race and my pace.  I LOVE the pace you called me to walk at and CHOOSE to walk up the escalator! In Jesus name, Amen.

YWAM DC has the honor of hosting a 15 person DTS outreach team from Kona Hawaii for 2 months!  This team has a huge heart and desire to see college campus set ablaze for Jesus!

To see Christians revived, the Lost Saved and everyone discipled.

And one of the universities they have the opportunity to serve with is GALLAUDET!
Below are some pictures of the Team and students and individuals that serve at Gallaudet!

Monday's Prayer Meeting-The Kona Team and YWAM DC staff joined the Monday prayer meeting at Gallaudet University last week!  We introduced ourselves, prayed for God's heart on Gallaudet Campus and worshiped Jesus! It was awesome as we worshiped in a public place and many people asking what was happening! The Gallaudet students were able to share that we were worshiping Jesus to people who passed by! One guy even joined us!

Hanging out afterwards!

After Mondays prayer and worship time, I was asked by both the Kona team and Gallaudet students when they were going to see each other again!  We had the opportunity to go back to Gallaudet on Wednesday and had each of the Gallaudet students teach some ASL to the Kona Team.  One DTS member learned how to share the gospel in ASL! The Gallaudet students were so encouraged to hang out with other Christians and the Kona team so grateful for the students patience with teaching them ASL.  It was a win win situation!

Teaching and Learning ASL

Simple Obedience + Love = Evangelism

Lives will be changed when we simple obey Jesus and love people. Our God is so amazing that ordinary things like hot dogs and hamburgers will be used by Him to transform lives as we step out in obedience and love. That's what He did today.

For the next two months, our base is hosting 15 DTS students on outreach from Kona, Hawaii.  This team is burning for Jesus and has a heart to see college campuses set ablaze for Jesus. They have come to DC to pour out into the college campuses in the city the truths, love and freedom God has been pouring into them. This week our Washington DC team and this 15-person DTS outreach team from Kona are partnering with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at George Washington University.  Today our team went to George Washington University, located in DC, and hosted a FREE cook out! We just set up camp and started grilling! We had signs that said:

FREE . . . Salvation is free and so are the burgers!

People flooded in!

As the people came, I asked God want He wanted me to do.  Should I pray for the DTS outreach team and IVers? Should I grill hot dogs? Should I talk to people? As I was praying a team member came up to me and said, "Carole, get out there and talk to people. You are such a people person." I felt that was my answer.

I prayed, "God, who do you want to meet with right now? Whose heart are you drawing to yourself?" As I prayed, a girl sat down with her hamburger, and I felt a connection. I quickly prayed for boldness and for direction of conversation as I approached her. My stomach got knots in it, nervousness and excitement combined, as I asked to sit next to her. Her name was Rachel, and we got into a great conversation about God.  She said that she recently started going back to church and was planning on getting baptized on Sunday.  I was so moved by her willingness to share and by her spiritual eagerness! As we talked, the Holy Spirit reminded me of marriage vows and how that was what she was doing this Sunday. She was saying I DO to Jesus forever!

God put encouraging words in my mouth that flowed naturally into our conversation about how she was committing to Jesus and how excited Jesus was about it! I talked about parallels in this marriage analogy; how Jesus had already committed to her through life or death, health or sickness, and that she was doing the same to Him.  Afterwards, I asked her if she wanted to make that marriage commitment to Jesus now. She said yes. I led her in a prayer committing her life to Jesus and saying I DO in sickness or in health, in good times or in bad, for richer, for poorer! It was a fervent vow to Jesus! Afterwards, she said "Wow! I never knew prayer could be so powerful." Rachel was a different person; a new creation born of the Spirit. She even looked different and could not stop smiling! I got excited and shouted that Rachel just said I DO to Jesus! She laughed and just kept smiling!! Many people from the team came over, hugged her and congratulated her!

Dan and I will go to her baptism this Sunday to love and rejoice with her! I love when our Heavenly Father invites us to go to work in the hearts of people! We receive so much joy when we decide to go!

Here is a picture of Rachel and me at her Baptism!
