Olive's Spring Experiments and more!

We have been doing some fun science experiments with Olive recently and she has been loving it!!!  For this blog, I had her look at the pictures and tell me what she remembers.  Enjoy!

Weather

Rain Cloud Fun

"Water is heavy in the clouds.  When it gets heavy, rain drops. Our clouds were shaving cream!"

 Icy SunCatcher

"Colored water and then it froze in the freezer! Ice melted outside in the sun."

Weather Vane

"Looking for wind to turn the arrow. It (the wind) blew East."

Move it!

Force

"Push or pull (two kinds of force). I pushed them (the bowls) across the table. I needed to see how heavy the bowls were.
The rocks were heavy."

Gravity

"Gravity makes you go down. And rocks make the rubber band stretch bigger."

Friction

"We saw what went fast and what went slow!"

Solar System

"That is the earth going around the sun.
The sun is pretty hot. When you get close, you will get burned. It is a star by itself.
When it is night, it is cold, the sun is down. When it is day, it is hot, the sun is here."

Other fun Spring activities:

We have been to the zoo twice this spring for some animal time!

Wegmans Wonderplace: National Museum of American History

Anna and Caleb, our two staff, have been helping hang out with the kids twice a week, to provide me (Carole) with some time to do office work like write blogs for you! Anna, loves to do creative art projects and Caleb enjoy reading or playing games with Olive.

Brandt, one of our former staff, came by for a visit and played a game of dominos!

We are so grateful for the people in our community who love and pour into our children!
