The Secret of Waiting: Perspective shift

"For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him" Isaiah 64:4

God is a God outside of time.
He is in a completely different time zone!
He is eternal, He does not have a beginning or an end,
we are finite and have a clear beginning and end.
As we wait on God, we enter His time zone.
Our perspective on life shifts.

Today, I am 41 weeks and 4 days, 11 days "overdue" according this world.  And God is teaching me about waiting.  As I have waited, my perspective has completely shifted.

Last week, we had a speaker at our weekly family night, who shared about perspective and how we look at our current life situations from God's perspective, our perspective is changed.  As he was sharing, a phrase arose in my spirit, "I have been waiting 9 months, what is another week?" Immediately, something in my spirit changed.  The next day was beautiful! I decided to take a long walk as I was coming close to the end, I decided to stop by a coffee shop and the gardens at the National Cathedral, very close to where we live.  I got a smoothie and went outside into the gardens.  The sun was shining and I sat in silence with the sun beaming down on me, thinking about the phrase that was put in my spirit the day before. God decided to expand on the phrase. After listening and talking to God, I realized that my focus was soo much on the labor and birth rather than meeting the daughter that God is giving us to steward. The child that we have been desiring and waiting for.  I sat and reflected over the obstacles that we have overcome and promises that God has already fulfilled in our lives, the words of identity that God has spoken to us about this child and all the prayers, blessings and words from family and friends for our daughter and I cried uncontrollably.  SOO excited to finally be able to meet our child, to hold her in my arms and to see her face to face.

Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted,
that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him. Isaiah 30:18

"When it says, "The Lord will wait", it does not mean that God is waiting for you to do something; it means that God is strategically delaying His miraculous visitation because He has greater things in store for you than you've even asked for. But to give you the fullness of what He has planned for your life, He will use the season of waiting to prepare you as a vessel, and also to prepare circumstances around your life so that you will be able to step forward into the proper sphere when His release comes to you.  He's waiting to that He can crown you with an even greater blessing."
Bob Sorge Secrets of the Secret Place Ch. 32 The Secret of Waiting

In the last two weeks of waiting for the arrival for our daughter, God has prepared me in a greater way to give birth and care for her, I know that He is preparing the circumstances around my life and I believe that there will be an even great blessing when she arrives because of the season of waiting!
